Today is a very beautiful day and I am going to skydive over Lake Taupo with Taupo Tandem Skydive.

Located in Central North Island, Lake Taupo is one of the largest volcanic lake in the world. Lake Taupo was created by the largest eruption of the past 5,000 years. Today, what remains is a lake the size of Singapore.

This is my second skydive and I am very excited: this time I know what will happen and I will be able to enjoy it to the most. Last time I haven't looked down from the plane at the beggining of the jump. This time I am going to look straight down!

I am lucky to be with Freddy, one of the most experienced guys of the company: 23 years of experience and 11,000 jumps!! I feel very good with him: we chatted a bit and he explained me what to do. You can recognize him easily with his funny red horns on his helmet.

This company has a large plane and it takes us up quickly to 12,000 feet. I am the second to jump and after a few funny pictures, I hop to the back door, sit on the edge and jump off the plane with Freddy strapped to my back.

Then I don't remember exactly what happened because I looked down and my brain was off for a few seconds. I remember that I saw the sky so there should have been a flip! I still have about 45 seconds of free fall to enjoy and it was exhilarating! Wahooohoooo :-)

Then it's time to open the parachute: I really enjoy this kind of ride too: it's slower and everything seems so quiet up there. I liked when Freedy said 'Welcome to my office'. That's a great office indeed ;-) Lake Taupo is so beautiful from above: it has a bright turquoise shore and its water are very very transparent due to its volcanic origin. I heard that diving underwater is great.

We then landed gently and it's time to have a whole set of feelings that are unique to skydive.

We then all gather for a last photo and head to the DVD room. While a technician is setting up our DVDs, we are amazed at what professional skydivers can do: some are jumping from a plane inside a car and at the last second they open their parachute while the car crashes underneath very close to a target flag!!! Crazy!!!

I would really recommend this Taupo Tandem Skydive company as they are the cheapest and have a very good staff.
