The Huka Falls are very impressive: it's very power and not high at all (10m). 220,000 litres of water tumbles over the cliff face per second!

The Wairakei Terraces are next to the Huka falls, north of Taupo. They were originally fashioned by man as a small copy of the Tarawera pink and white versions that were destroyed in 1886.

The Pink and White Terraces were regarded as the '8th Wonder of the World'. The White terraces were 30m high and covered an area of 7 acres. In the afternoon of the 10th of June 1886, the Mount Tarawera volcano erupted and buried 7 villages under ashes killing 108 people.

You can then rest your feet in a hot thermal pool and a cold Blue Pool:

A colorful river flowing into another river with a white bed. Amazing!
